The website of The Light of Images of Segorbe exhibition has
had a total number of 10.517 visits since last September 2001,
the date on which the exhibition was opened
Most of the Internet browsers - 8,027 of them - accessed the
contents of www.laluzdelasimagenes.com directly, through the
exhibition website. The site also allows visitors to learn
about the contents of the exhibition in three languages. The
number of users who have visited the site in the Spanish version
comes to 5,707, while 2,070 have used the text in Valencian.
250 accesses have been made through the English version of
the page. The other entries to the website of The Light of
Images of Segorbe, 2,490, were made indirectly, by means of
links with other pages on the web.
The website provides a virtual visit to the exhibition. Before
starting the trip, a "voice-over" describes the
origins of the diocese. The description also looks at the
recovery and restoration of Valencian heritage as the aim
of the Valencian Community Light of Images Foundation. From
the cover page one can gain access to the three buildings
which house the 600 pieces in the exhibition, in a detailed
visit with the history of each building, its architectural
style and images of the items that this exhibits, classified
into four groups, like the exhibition itself: painting, precious
metalwork, fabrics and documents.
Browsable photographs and music
In the section on the Cathedral the website provides browsable
photographs of the cloister, the Chapterhouse and the central
nave. Visitors can also download the most representative images
of the different exhibition zones of the Cathedral, such as
the cloister, the choir, the nave, the chapels or the apse.
To round off the visit to the Cathedral you can hear the sound
of music created by the temple maestros harmonising the different
exhibition spaces. The same possibility is available in the
access to Sant Martín church, which exhibits painting,
precious metalwork and fabrics. The route is completed with
the visit to the church of San Joaquín y Santa Ana,
at which there is also a look at the history of the building,
with images of the painting, metalwork, fabrics and documents
on show at the temple.
In another of its links the website also allows the visitor
to find out about the restoration process with diverse emblematic
works of the exhibition. The history of the item, the state
of preservation in which this was found and the treatment
that has been applied to restore paintings such as the tondi
and the apse of the cathedral or the Saint Luke altarpiece.
The website www.laluzdelasimagenes.com also gives full information
about the complementary events for the exhibition, such as
the series of concerts given or the presence of The Light
of Images at different tourist events in order to promote
the exhibition, closely connected with local tourism. This
is why the website for the exhibition also gives access to
the hotel, tourist, culture and leisure possibilities available
in Segorbe and in the different towns and villages of Alto
Palancia, such as Soneja, Altura, Viver, Jérica, Algimia
de Almonacid or Caudiel, apart from information about Valencia,
Castellón or the routes existing around the Sierra
de Espadán or Sierra Calderona ranges
www.laluzdelasimagenes.com also lets you get in touch with
the foundation to reserve tickets to visit the exhibition,
find out all the information connected with this or learn
about the personalities who come to Segorbe to look around
the three venues for the exhibition covering the history of
the diocese.
