The minister for Culture, Education, Youth and Sports of La
Rioja, Luis Alegre, and the General Culture Director of this
Autonomous Community, Domingo Ribera, visited The Light of
Images of Segorbe exhibition last Saturday.
Alegre and Ribera, who came from Logroño to Segorbe
specially to visit The Light of Images, signed the book of
honour of the exhibition. "This is a marvellous, surprising
and splendid exhibition. A cultural and traditional phenomenon.
The title is very appropriate because these images have a
light of their own. These images, these expressions of art,
are there for the people to be aware of our nation's rich
heritage. Both autonomous authorities and the central government
are increasingly aware of the importance of recovering and
preserving our artistic heritage. The existence of these exhibitions
becomes a vehicle to convey the artistic legacy created by
our ancestors to future generations. These exhibitions discover
the legacy that we are leaving for future generations to safeguard
these treasures which talk of the history of our nation, a
common patrimony which displays the greatness of our origins",
said Luis Alegre.
