Valencia (08.05.01). Roughly 3.000 people visited the exhibition
showing the process for restoring the frescos in the vault and the
tondi of Segorbe cathedral (Castellón). This event was arranged
by the Valencian Community Foundation "The Light of Images"
at the Círculo Segorbino and was open from 3rd April to 1st
May, both inclusive.
The
numbers of visitors to the exhibition, "Restoration of the
vault and tondi of Segorbe cathedral" were such that this was
left open to the public for a further day.
The
public at the exhibition were the inhabitants of Segorbe itself,
people from the villages in Alto Palancia county and groups of day-trippers
visiting Segorbe.
The
exhibition made known the whole process for recovery of the frescos
and tondi of Segorbe cathedral carried out by the Light of Images
Foundation on the occasion of the exhibition of religious art which
will be opened in Segorbe in September 2001.
This
restoration work was endowed with an investment of 22 million pesetas
and was the first showing of a set of works that the Light of Images
Foundation is recovering for the exhibition in Segorbe.
