A
detail of the frescos in the vault painted by José and Manuel
Camarón, with an approximate surface area of 150 square metres,
in a print dated 1919, the only graphic evidence preserved of the
fresco before the damage caused by the civil war.
This image was used by the restorers as a guide and reference point
for recovering the original state of the mural. History tells us
that the artist, José Camarón i Bonanad, started the
work around 1800 and died three years later, with his son Manuel
Camarón i Meliá finishing the work, and dying in 1806,
when this was completed.
